Ethics: A Case Study Approach to Ethical Dilemmas for the Insurance Professional (State # 59628, 4 Credits): 7:30 am - 11:30 am

This continuing education program will present Ethics for insurance professionals in a unique format that will use the foundations of ethical behavior for both insurance agency personnel and insurance company representatives combined with 20-25 actual day-to-day ethical dilemmas faced by insurance practitioners in today’s complex insurance environment. Participants will be encouraged to recognize that many ethical situations in today’s insurance market have multiple solutions with complex consequences for insurance companies, clients and agents. The class format will focus on exposing these many solutions and identifying the best possible ethical solutions. This is an interactive and lively discussion of many common challenges facing insurance professionals.

E&O Case Study: Training for Insurance Professionals (State # 59627, 4 Credits): 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm

This 4-hour continuing education program will use a unique classroom approach to presenting well-established and recognized agency Errors and Omissions loss prevention techniques and principles. The presentation will consist of fundamental agency practices and illustrated through the use of actual courtroom testimony of a case involving a lawsuit alleging agency negligence. While many E&O programs use theoretical scenarios involving poor agency practices, this class will use an actual case that illustrates the inherent risks faced by insurance agents and agencies in their everyday transactions. This format involves interaction of all participants and is an eye-opening look into the processes following the receipt of notice of claim to an agency.
